NAIDOC 2015 Sees the launch of the “Bring The Sun Out” Tour documentary

Apr 30, 2015

Impossible Odds Records is proud to announce the launch of the “Bring The Sun Out” Tour documentary in July 2015.

Filmed edited and produced by Sustainable Dreaming the documentary follows 3 Impossible Odds Records bands.  CKNU, Cold Water Band & Impossible Odds on a whirlwind tour of regional Queensland in 2013.

Starting in Yirrganydji country Cairns then down to the Bindal and Wulgurukaba  mobs of Townsville the tour snaked down the coast to the Badjtala homeland of the Fraser Coast region.  Then onto the Gubbi Gubbi mob of the Sunshine Coast, Yuggera & Turrbul mobs from Brisbane and surrounds to the Nunukul of Quandamooka Stradbroke Island and surrounds and the the Kombumerri Yugambeh country of the Gold Coast and surrounding regions and venturing to the far west into Murrdi country to the Bidjara of the South West.

This film documents the first time 3 Indigenous bands had attempted a feat of such a scale and magnitude.  Sixteen band members in total, a tour manager, a camera man, a P.A. system, instruments galore, film gear, a 25 seater bus and a truck load of talented musicians took to the road during NAIDOC Week 2013 with one goal.  To give back to their community and entertain the socks off of anyone in their path.  This is a story of black fellas, white fellas, friendship, music and community and the one week that brings them all together.
